COMMUNITY INVITED TO FORM HUMAN HEART CHAIN FOR AMERICAN HEART MONTH

WCA Hospital Goes RED For Heart Event

Jamestown, New York (Thursday, January 28, 2010)—The WCA Hospital Heart Center team alongside the WCA Family will form a human heart chain around the perimeter of WCA Hospital on Tuesday, February 2, at 6 p.m. to raise public awareness that one in three Americans are affected by heart disease.

Community clubs, organizations and the community-at-large are invited to help the WCA Family form the human heart chain to honor of family, friends or neighbors who have been affected by heart problems.  All interested participants are asked to gather at the front entrance of WCA Hospital, located at 207 Foote Avenue at 6:00 p.m.

A short presentation will be held preceding the formation of the human heart chain.

Mrs. Betsy T. Wright, WCA Hospital President/CEO, will deliver the opening remarks.

Dr. George L. So, MD, FACC, board certified cardiologist and JAMA physician, will be the guest physician.  Dr. So will present the warning signs, treatment and prevention of heart attacks.

Robert Johnson, a local heart patient, will give a personal testimonial.

Participants will then be given a battery-operated candle and form a human heart chain around the building in honor of a loved one affected by heart disease.

The grand finale will be the official lighting of the front of WCA Hospital “RED” in support of American Heart Month.
